Glazed tile for walls

A single row almost never includes the integral part of the tiles. So the tiles should be cut into pieces. Use the following tools: glass cutter, emery wheel, a ruler. Glass cutter with a ruler cut a glaze layer. Then gently strike the tile by hand with the edge of a table or board. At the emery wheel the edges should be aligned. After that prepared tiles have to soak in water for 2-3 hours. They are impregnated with moisture. This will improve the adhesion between the tile and grout. Also to get good adhesion you can moisten the back of the tile surface with a solution Ceresit cm11.

Ceresit cm11 solution is applied to the back of the tiles in the form of a truncated pyramid. After this tile with a solution Ceresit is applied to the wall and face down to the general level of finishing. Clean the excess grout with a spatula or trowel. Ceresit thickness varies from one to one and a half centimeters. First fit guides for Ceresit, the so-called lighthouse tiles. They are placed by one in each corner of the wall. Place them in a strictly vertical and horizontal. Stretch the cord between these guide tiles. The ends of the cord are attached to the rail. The rail is placed along the edges of the wall. Each tile must fit on the cord. The first row is placed on the wooden board which supports the raw. To make the seams everywhere the same in width use crosses for tile or wedges when laying these tiles. After laying the tile joints should be cleaned and filled with a spatula to fill the mortar joints (with a special solution Ceresit). The entire surface should be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Another method of laying tile is styling with glue. This method of laying tiles are best used when there is very durable and smooth base. Technically styling with an adhesive is similar to working with cement mortar. At the end of the process of laying all the seams are filled with glue. The surface is wiped with a damp cloth. Clay usually dries completely between two to three days. Adhesives in shops and construction markets are sold in dry form. Method of preparation is indicated on the packaging. "Ceresit cm11", "Ceresit cm 117", "The Moment ", "Master " and others are suitable for installations. The adhesive fillers are introduced to increase the thickness of the adhesive layer. As you can see, the technique laying ceramic tile requires certain skills. The quality of performed work determines the service time of your tiles. Therefore, it’s advisable in these cases to hire the competent person who will make laying the tiles with high quality and reliance.
