The advantages of brick

Brick is perhaps the most convenient and sturdy material for the construction of buildings and houses of heterogeneous structures. This durable material is used by people for hundreds of years. The main advantages of brick are strength and durability. Bricks come in various shapes, sizes and colors. This certainly gives him an advantage over other competitors in building materials.


Let’s take a closer look at the whole (solid) brick. Whole brick is often used in those buildings where the possibility of ingress of water is extremely high. The base and foundation are the examples of such constructions. This kind of brick is more popular and more often used in the construction of various facilities. Solid brick, unlike other kinds of bricks, is easy to produce. He has good strength and cheapness.


Hollow brick is the form of brick which you should pay attention to. Its production technology is more complicated than solid bricks production. But it has many advantages. The material should contain at least 13% of voids. These voids accelerate evaporation of moisture and water, reduce heat conduction, reduced weight. Hollow brick, unlike solid is afraid of water. In water environment hollow bricks are destroyed much faster than whole bricks. Therefore, avoid the use of this type of brick in places where there is likelihood of getting into the water. Sometimes hollow brick used in decorative designs.

  
Sand-lime brick is also one of the types of bricks. It consists mainly of sand. Amount of sand in sand-lime brick is 90%, the remaining 10% is - lime and some additives. If you add in the silica brick different color pigments, it is possible to obtain a diverse palette of brick: whether it is yellow, green, or that which we most often used to see - red.


From the above, it may be noted that the brick material is quite versatile in its application. It does not make sense to say what kind of brick is better or worse. Each type is different and is intended for use in diverse building structures.

Foam concrete - the material of the future

It can be compared to microclimatic characteristics with wood. It is very warm material. Therefore, it will hold expensive heat in your house.
